The Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced that he will boost house building in the UK, supporting over 200,000 new homes for families. He said he’ll offer £500 million of finance to small house building firms, with Right to Build scheme offering £150 million to families looking to build their own homes, like in countries such as France and Germany
He also said he’ll extend government-backed mortgage scheme Help to Buy, to deliver 120,000 more homes by 2020. As well as this, he announced details of the first new garden city for 100 years that will be built in Kent and provide 15,000 homes.
