Robert Holmes's John Collard is set to embark on a  strenuous (to say the least) 14 day cycle ride in Burma/Myanmar for the charity Beating Bowel Cancer! And this is no meant feat – 500 miles off the beaten track is pretty gruelling for even the most youngest and fittest among us. A trustee of the leading UK charity which supports bowel cancer patients and their families, the challenge is close to John's heart. Bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer – but 90 percent of patients will survive if it's identified early. John's hoping to raise more than £20,000 and would appreciate any contributions. All costs are being borne by him and the other participants.

If you'd like to sponsor John, donations can be made through his website. For more information have a look at the website Beating Bowel Cancer.

We wish him the best of luck!
