During a joint television interview with New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Boris Johnson said that property prices are desirable as they are “a massive premium here in London”.

The London Mayor added that technology start-ups are attracted to the capital, despite the poor facilities, saying that “they love that stuff”.

The colourful politician also said that the UK needs to change its attitude to the wealthy and that banks and venture capitalists need to be as “daring and risk-taking as they can be”.

Johnson claims that the UK is turning culturally into the America of the European Union and the place where people want to go.
