Children going to this year’s Christmas pantomime at Wimbledon Theatre can come face-to-face with Hollywood actor Verne Troyer.
US star Troyer, who is just 2ft 10in tall and is best known for playing Mini Me in the Austin Powers films, will play Lofty the Pirate in the New Wimbledon Theatre’s production of Peter Pan.
Troyer will be making his panto debut at Wimbledon, alongside comedian Marcus Brigstocke, who will star as Captain Hook.
“I am so excited to be joining the world of British pantomime,” says Verne. “The people of the UK always make me feel so welcome and what better way to spend Christmas than performing in a live show at a beautiful theatre in London?”
Peter Pan will also feature Britain’s Got Talent street dance troupe Flawless and Kiwi comedian Jarred Christmas.
Flawless, who have previously appeared in Aladdin at the New Wimbledon Theatre, will be bringing their own unique street dance style to the Peter Pan story as the Pirate Crew.
Award-winning funnyman Jarred Christmas returns to the Wimbledon stage after his performance in Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. This time he will be providing the laughs as Captain Hook’s hapless side-kick, Smee.
Peter Pan runs from 5 December to 10 January and tickets cost from £10.
