The surge in house prices is not restricted to London and the South East – with new data showing that prices are up in more than 50 percent of the country for the first time in a decade.
There was an average rise of 0.7 percent in February in 51 percent of postcodes. This was the biggest monthly rise since April 2007. However, the largest gains were still in London, with prices up 1.1 percent in a month and 0.9 percent in the South East.
