Winterfest, Wimbledon’s annual day of festive fun will bring the spirit of the season to the town centre on Sunday 27 November 2022, between 12 noon and 6pm.
The Broadway will be partly closed to make way for live performances, children’s rides, arts and crafts and ice sculptures. Pop along, and you can catch a selfie with the walkabout Christmas characters, treat yourself to some delicious hot food and drink and shop for unique gifts in the Christmas market. Rounding off the day is a spectacular fireworks display, courtesy of Centre Court Shopping Centre, at 5.30pm.
In addition to Winterfest, there will be 12 days of seasonal gift and food stalls on the Piazza in the run up to the big day. Shop for stocking fillers, artisan delicacies, original art, homeware, jewellery, clothing, candles and more. Just up the hill is Christmas in the Village. This annual Wimbledon Village event will welcome in the festive season on Sunday 4 December 2022, between 10am and 5pm. There’ll be a Christmas market with festive food, drinks and gifts along the High Street. Santa will be in his grotto outside the Dog and Fox throughout the day – apart from lunchtime, when he and his elves will ride up the high street on horseback in a seasonal parade. There will also be pony and fairground rides, face-painting, story time and seasonal music from choirs and bands. To close the event at 5pm, there’ll be mulled wine and carols around the Christmas tree before the village festive lights are switched on.
Organised by the Wimbledon Village Business Association, the event raises funds for local charity Wimbledon Guild. Read more on the Wimbledon Village website
