London is full of hidden gems, and one of them is the Coombe Hill estate. Perched on a hill, a mile from Wimbledon and Kingston, it is a secluded, gated estate of large, original, detached houses, surrounded by greenery and golf courses. It is also a few minutes away from Royal Richmond Park with its wild deer.
There are a wide variety of exclusive family homes from £3 to £15 million, with very large gardens, security, peace and quiet. The estate, which is gated, has two golf courses within it – Coombe Hill Golf Club and Coombe Wood Golf Club, with another two within 2 miles, including the exclusive Royal Wimbledon Course. With the A3 motorway just a few minutes away, residents can be in central London or in the countryside in 20 minutes.
Coombe has the best green spaces in London
Coombe is surrounded by countryside yet is only 7 miles from central London.
It is surrounded by open space, with two beautiful golf courses enclosing it, and is minutes away from Richmond Park, Putney Heath and Wimbledon Common.
There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants in the nearby Raynes Park high-street, which has been named the UK’s best high street. You’ll find cuisines including Turkish, Italian, Spanish and Japanese as well as chain cafes. For shopping, there’s a Waitrose and a Sainsbury’s Local plus some lovely gift and interiors shops for browsing.
There is plenty of world-class sport within a few miles of Coombe.
Beyond the two local golf courses, it is just a couple of miles from the All England Lawn Tennis Club that hosts the Wimbledon championships annually. A ten-minute cab ride will take you to the famous gates of the grounds of the All England Club, where the championships take place at the end of June into July each year.
The other famous sporting occasion starts in Putney; the Oxford and Cambridge boat race. You can stand toe to toe with the rowers as they take their vessels from the boathouse in Putney to the river before they row 4 miles to the west at Mortlake.
Also, only five miles away is the famous Twickenham Stadium, the home of English rugby, where you can watch all the top international sides play against England. If you are a soccer fan, then Fulham and Chelsea football clubs are less than 6 miles away, too – all an easy taxi ride.
Coombe Hill is close to some beautiful towns. It is within driving distance of Barnes village, Kingston, Putney and Richmond, all situated on the River Thames.
South West Trains
The area is on the main South West Trains route to London Waterloo with trains every three minutes during peak times and the journey takes 23 minutes. Raynes Park’s location, just minutes from the A3, means getting out of London by car is pretty easy too.
